What led you to a career in the deal-making industry?
I have always been attracted to growth opportunities afforded by overcoming challenges. I find it incredibly rewarding to partner with management teams helping them grow and accomplish their goals.
How does diversity add value in the deal-making process?
Investing is an edge-driven competitive business. Representation of different genders, races, and sexual orientations is always advantageous as it brings different perspectives. Avoiding the echo chambers of groupthink requires a diverse team that thinks about challenges and solutions in different ways.
The most memorable deal I worked on....
In 2016, we invested in Hygiena, a family-owned business, aligning with the family around a partnership structure and growth vision. Over the course of the past four and half years, we quadrupled the company’s revenue and EBITDA, ultimately achieving substantial value for the family, management and Warburg Pincus.
Tell us about your experience during Covid-19, any lessons?
While the productivity benefits afforded by technology have been amazing, COVID has reminded me of how essential personal touch can be to developing trust and rapport with management and mentoring professionals, which are crucial to sustainable success.
Advice for achieving success in the industry....
Private equity requires duration thinking. Design a sustainable strategy, stay focused, filter out skeptics and celebrate incremental progress knowing that successful outcomes will follow.

Having worked in private equity for 18 years, Stephanie Geveda is the Head of Business Services at Warburg Pincus. She currently serves on the boards of Hygiena, Sotera Health, Certified Group, Arise Virtual Solutions, GA Foods, Sweeping Corporation, and SPINS and has been involved in notable investments including ARAMARK, GrubHub, Seamless, Electronic Funds Source, WEX, and Endurance International.
Education: M.B.A from Harvard Business School, graduating as a Baker Scholar and B.B.A from the University of Notre Dame.
