What led you to a career in the deal-making industry?
I started off my career in investment banking at Lehman Brothers focused on the power and utilities sector. While at Lehman, I worked on one restructuring deal that I really enjoyed and decided to explore opportunities with other restructuring firms. I have focused solely on restructurings since 2008.
Tell us about your experience and what was different during the Covid-19?
I work with middle market companies and creditors on corporate restructuring engagements. Over the past year, I have worked harder and smarter, and have accomplished outstanding results under challenging pandemic-induced circumstances such as remote work and no face-to-face meetings with stakeholders while balancing homeschooling and family commitments.
Recent most memorable deal I worked on....
I worked with the management team of a hospitality business severely impacted by the pandemic to focus on preserving liquidity while identifying areas of opportunity where the client could reduce costs and, consequently, improve margins.

Adeola has over 10 years of experience providing financial and strategic advisory services to companies and creditors. Her experience focuses on mergers and acquisitions, financings/refinancings, restructurings, bankruptcies and strategic advisory. Adeola has worked with clients across a wide range of industries including consumer, retail, industrials, energy, power and utilities, and media. Some of Adeola’s notable transactions include advising the Fuel Lien Lenders of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, representing the Senior Secured Noteholders of Brookstone, advising America’s Water Heater Rentals in its sale to Direct Energy, advising the Government Development Bank of Puerto Rico, advisor to the Bondholders of Elpida Inc. and representing Vertrue Inc.
