Published exclusively by Global M&A Network, the 10th annual list profiles a highly respected and successful group of 50 lawyers from the Americas mergers and acquisitions communities. Over 108 firms and 621 lawyers were evaluated per eligibility standards for the current A-list.

Dale practices corporate, commercial and securities law and provides counsel in connection with public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and business restructurings. Dale is actively involved in community and charitable organizations and is a Director and former Chair of Baycrest Health Sciences and an Honorary Trustee of the Hospital for Sick Children.


Lisa Lathrop

Lisa acts as the principal lawyer for private equity funds during the full life cycle of their portfolio company investments, from acquisition through disposition. During her nearly 20 years of practice at Jones Day, she has worked on a wide variety of deal structures in jurisdictions around the globe. Lisa's extensive experience also includes the representation of privately held businesses and other strategic buyers and sellers in connection with their M&A activity.


Christian Lippert

Christian is an authority in the Mexican legal market with over 20 years of experience in strategic mergers and acquisitions, antitrust matters, and private wealth management. Acting as trusted advisor to his clients, he combines unrivalled market insight and an innovative analysis of the transaction at hand, prioritizing the client´s best interest.


Ricardo Madrona

Ricardo works on mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, contracts, succession and estate planning, and arbitration. He teaches Mergers and Acquisitions in GVLaw’s Graduate Program and in the GVLaw’s Global Law Program.


Steve Malas

Steve practices in the area of corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, privatizations and corporate governance. He also acts in Canadian and Canada/US cross-border offerings and private placements on behalf of issuers and underwriters.


Dan is a trusted advisor to strategic and financial dealmakers as they pursue their most significant transactions. His practice focuses on complex business transactions for both private and public companies, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures and strategic investments. During his career, he has advised on hundreds of transactions worth more than $25 billion and spanning a broad range of industries.

Richard “Rick” has been a business lawyer with DLA Piper for more than 20 years, assisting clients with cross-border and domestic acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and investments. He has represented companies and investors in many different sectors, including manufacturing, technology, hospitality, education, and healthcare.

Katharine A. Martin

Katie is chair of Wilson Sonsini's board of directors, where she practices corporate and securities law. She has extensive experience in representing public companies. Her practice includes all aspects of company representation, including corporate governance, SEC compliance, 1934 Act issues, public offerings, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions.


Carlos E. Martinez

Carlos has more than 35 years of experience in Latin American cross-border transactions. In the mergers and acquisitions area, Carlos has represented acquirers, investors, and target companies in several cross-border transactions.


Jim also leads Pillsbury’s Semiconductor Industry Group. He advises a global clientele on transformative corporate, securities and finance deals. Jim has managed complex cross-border M&A transactions for both public and private buyers and sellers, including buyers and sellers located in the UK, China, Israel, Korea and the Philippines, across a variety of industries.
