Published exclusively by Global M&A Network, the 10th annual list profiles a highly respected and successful group of 50 lawyers from the Americas mergers and acquisitions communities. Over 108 firms and 621 lawyers were evaluated per eligibility standards for the current A-list.

Jonathan E. Kellner

Jonathan focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital, capital markets, bank finance, and investment funds for U.S. and Latin American corporations and financial institutions. He has experience working on transactions in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, and Peru, and he regularly transacts in Portuguese and Spanish.

Carlos Barbosa Mello

Carlos has acted as leading counsel in several of the most important transactions in the Brazilian capital markets in recent years. He has developed relationships with issuers, coordinators, and regulatory authorities, and expanded his activities into the areas of mergers and acquisitions and private equity.


Matthew Poulter

Matthew advises global companies, “multilatinas” and investment banks on corporate and finance transactions. He has extensive experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, SEC-registered and exempt debt and equity offerings, structured credit facilities, and infrastructure finance transactions. He has worked extensively in Latin America, including on significant cross-border transactions involving Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.


João Ricardo de Azevedo Ribeiro

João Ricardo’s practice focuses on merger and acquisition transactions, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, and foreign investments. He counsels publicly held and private companies, business conglomerates, foreign investors, and private equity funds in connection with corporate law matters.
