Peter Hurwitz

Peter leads the firm’s efforts in media and entertainment opportunities, and participates more broadly in the firm’s restructuring, distressed investing and special credit opportunities businesses. As a firm principal, he shares with Matthew Dundon in the general management of the firm. He joined the firm after long a career as a senior business and legal executive in the entertainment industry. He holds a JD from Georgetown Law Center and a BA from Middlebury College.


Christopher J. Kearns

Christopher has represented all parties-in-interest in various complex restructuring and bankruptcy matters and has served as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Restructuring Officer, Responsible Officer, Receiver, and Trustee. He has rendered expert testimony in multiple jurisdictions on matters involving valuation, lost profits, solvency, credit analysis, liquidation and recovery analysis, and other issues in distressed situations. Prior to joining BRG, Mr. Kearns was a co-founder of Capstone Advisory Group, and before Capstone, he was a Senior Managing Director at the Policano & Manzo legacy practice of FTI Consulting. Mr. Kearns received the “Restructuring Leader, Consultant” accolade at the Turnaround Atlas Awards Gala, 2019.


Michael J. Kennedy

Michael has more than 20 years of restructuring, financial advisory and principal investing experience. He joined Chilmark in 1999 and is a partner of the firm. Prior to Chilmark, he was a Senior Consultant in Arthur Andersen’s Transaction Advisory Group where he led financial due diligence on numerous acquisitions and assisted with operations, synergy, and valuation analysis. Michael graduated with honors from the University of Illinois.


Robert Kost

Rob has more than 30 years of experience representing clients in a broad range of investment banking activities, including chapter 11 and out-of-court restructurings, distressed mergers and acquisitions, exchange offers, rights offerings and debt financings. He also offers expert reports and related testimony on a variety of investment banking, solvency and valuation related matters. He joined Teneo in connection with its acquisition of Goldin Associates. Recent advisory engagements include roles in Puerto Rico, The Zohar Funds, J. Crew, J.C. Penney, Southeastern Grocers, among others. Rob graduated from The University of Michigan with a B.A. in Economics and from Duke University with an M.B.A. in Finance.


Mohsin (Mo) Meghji

Mo is a nationally recognized U.S. turnaround professional with an exemplary track record of accomplishment across a wide range of industries. His 30+ year career has focused primarily on reviving companies experiencing financial, operational or strategic transitions to maximize value for stakeholders. He has accomplished this through management and/or advisory roles in partnership with some of the world’s leading financial institutions, private equity and distressed hedge fund investors. Mo’s notable recent restructurings included serving as the Chief Restructuring Officer of Sears Holdings Corporation, Barney’s Inc., Real Alloy Intermediate Holdings, Sanchez Energy and as a director on corporate boards of Frontier Communications, Toys “R” Us, etc. Mo is a graduate of the Schulich School of Business, York University, Canada.


Joff Mitchell

Joff has more than 30 years of management experience across a wide range of industries such as energy, shipping, infrastructure, manufacturing, and distribution. His expertise is in the areas of acquisitions, debt financing and restructurings, divestitures, and successful bankruptcy reorganizations. He is recognized as an innovative executive whose exceptional leadership, business acumen, and interpersonal skills bring insightful sophistication to complex situations. Joff was awarded the “Global Consultant of the Year” honors at the Turnaround Atlas Awards.


Daniel Moses

Daniel has 25 years of diverse experience across distressed investing, restructuring, debt & equity capital markets and advisory services both in the US and Europe. Decisive and detail-oriented by nature, he has been selected to participate in an array of complex chapter 11 cases, in or out-of-court restructurings, liquidations, distressed financial transactions and traditional equity investments. Mr. Moses leads Province’s Institutional Creditor Advisory Business, which focuses on reorganization advisory services for secured lenders, bondholders and other creditor groups, in or out-of-court solutions, pre-packaged/prearranged chapter 11 bankruptcies and traditional chapter 11 processes. He also leads Province’s Financial Advisory for Independent Directors Business, which provides valuation services, board of director advisory services, pre-bankruptcy strategic alternatives and planning services among others.

What Daniel enjoys about his career... As a long time distressed investor and now a restructuring professional, I enjoy solving complex problems through innovation and reasoning and working with like-minded peers. Seeing my work play a role in creating a positive outcome for a company or investor is a particularly rewarding aspect of my career.


Richard Newman

Richard provides financial advisory services to creditors and specializes in representing official committees of unsecured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings. He has advised unsecured creditors, senior lenders and healthy and distressed companies in leveraged recapitalizations, mergers and acquisitions and interim management situations. Mr. Newman has successfully negotiated DIP financings, plan of reorganizations and restructuring agreements. Richard earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from George Washington University and an MBA from The University of Texas.


Bill Partridge

Bill has over 20 years of corporate finance, restructuring and capital markets expertise, primarily in the energy, construction, biotech, and technology industries. His recent engagements include advising a fiber optic and data-com construction contractor through its restructuring, advising a publicly traded bio-pharma company through its 363-sale and restructuring, CRO team lead at a landscape construction company through its successful out of court restructuring and sale, advisor to an e-wallet company through its acqui-hire by Coinbase, and CRO team lead on the Ch. 11 restructuring of Wave Computing. Prior to SCP, Bill spent several years as an independent financial advisor, interim CFO, and consultant taking on many unique and challenging engagements for private companies headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area. Earlier in his career, Bill held a finance management position at Suntech, where he worked on its successful restructuring.

Matthew Ray

Matthew is a nationally recognized transformation and restructuring professional. He has led engagements developing and implementing performance improvement plans, strategic alternatives, organizational realignments, operational turnarounds and financial restructurings resulting in significant value creation and preservation for a broad spectrum of stakeholders. Prior to founding Portage Point, Mr. Ray Co-founded Victory Park Capital where he served as Senior Partner managing business diligence, financial restructurings and workouts, operational turnarounds, value creation initiatives and strategic alternatives as well as serving in interim executive roles for portfolio companies. Mr. Ray has served as a director on more than 15 corporate boards and is also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

What Matthew values about his career... Stakeholder and value dynamics vary widely by engagement. Pattern recognition and critical thinking are imperative. However, the ability to effectively articulate your value maximizing roadmap across the stakeholder spectrum is generally rewarded with consensus.
