What led you to a career in the deal-making industry?
The deal-making industry allows me to best leverage my quantitative reasoning skills and my passion for learning about new businesses while working closely with some of the most exciting growth entrepreneurs globally. Every transaction is unique (ranging across diverse structures, business models, and geographies), which makes each workday exciting.
Memorable deal I worked on... why?
I sourced and executed VPC’s first Southeast Asia investment in an AI-enabled digital consumer credit platform, which has grown meaningfully alongside VPC’s interest in emerging markets generally.

Deal-making is not just crunching numbers and negotiating; a key component of the role is fostering relationships with entrepreneurs, many of whom have become friends over the years.

Kinan joined VPC in 2015 and is responsible for sourcing, analyzing, executing, and managing investments across multiple industries, including financial services and special situations-oriented investments, and multiple strategies, including asset backed debt, late-stage growth equity, and special purpose acquisition companies. Previously, Mr. Hayani was an investment banking analyst at Greenhill & Co. in Chicago, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions.
Education: BBA in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
