What led you to a career in the deal-making industry?
Through my education and career at Kearney, I focused on operational improvement, and helping world class organizations solve their most pressing issues. The work was fulfilling but I wanted to create more lasting impacts and be in the owners seat, which led to my current role in Private Equity.
Memorable deal I worked on... why?
The sale of Quality Aluminum Products (QAP) to Gibraltar Industries. QAP was a textbook investment. We partnered with a founder, grew the presence, improved financial performance, created enormous value, and set up the company for success under its next owner.
Most enjoy about my career...
Always something more to learn – about industries, business models, deal structuring, etc., which keeps each day interesting.
Profile:
Andrew was promoted to Vice President from Associate only in four years. Since joining Blackford in 2018, Andrew has led or supported eight different transactions. He is responsible for key aspects of analyzing, acquiring, capitalizing, operationally improving and exiting the firm's equity investments.
Education: MSE and BSE in Industrial and Operations Engineering from University of Michigan.
