Christine Song
Director
Miller Buckfire, A Stifel Company
What led you to a career in the deal-making industry?
I was interning on a municipal bond investment team when the City of Detroit filed for bankruptcy. The appeal of the high impact work of restructuring led to a full time position at Miller Buckfire, the investment banker to the City of Detroit, upon graduation.
Memorable deal I worked on... why?
The Puerto Rico restructurings where we advised creditors of COFINA, the Commonwealth and PREPA because of the comprehensiveness of the restructurings and the relationships built with our clients and co-advisors.
Most enjoy about my career...
Working with an incredible team, understanding the key economic issues and motivations of our clients and other stakeholders, and creatively problem solving/negotiating to get to a deal.
