What led you to a career in the deal-making industry?
I began my career as a paralegal working almost exclusively on litigation related to Lehman Brothers’ collapse. In law school, I wanted to take course work that would provide a different perspective to all of that work. I enjoyed the coursework and pursued a position following law school in the restructuring industry. I was lucky to begin my career post-law school with the same group of supportive and collaborative attorneys at Hughes Hubbard, and then joined the amazing team at Cooley two years later.
Memorable deal I worked on... why?
This past year I represented Thirty Madison as stalking horse purchaser in The Pill Club’s chapter 11 bankruptcy case. The deal is memorable because it allowed tens of thousands of patients to receive continuity in their healthcare.
Most enjoy about my career...
Every day is different. From advising Cooley’s start-up clients on corporate governance, helping public companies navigate the first signs of financial distress, and representing buyers and sellers in distressed M&A and asset sale transactions, the variety of the work every day allows me to provide clients with creative solutions in tricky situations.
