What led you to a career in the deal-making industry?
My formative years were spent watching the late 90s technology bubble blow up and thinking, “huh, that looks easy!” As an avid poker player, experience has taught me to love the messy human aspects of negotiation. Then I got my first deal toy and am hooked for life.
Memorable deal I worked on... why?
The 2009 Medidata Solutions IPO, thumbing my nose at the GFC to chase after two incredible founders, Tarek Sherif and Glen de Vries, with 200lbs of S-1s in tow.
Most enjoy about my career...
Making a mark on the world. These transactions are the biggest moments of change, positive or negative, in the professional and – often – personal lives of real people, and that matters.
Profile:

Jonathan joined Strattam Capital in 2021 and currently is a principal focused on deal sourcing, new investment activity, and portfolio company oversight. Previously, he worked as Principal at HighBar Partners, a Bay Area-based private equity firm, where he focused on operationally engaged enterprise and infrastructure software investments. Prior to joining HighBar Partners, he was an Associate in the Technology Group of TA Associates and an Investment Banking Analyst in the TMT Group at Credit Suisse. Jonathan currently serves on the boards of Action Title Research.

Education: A.B. cum laude in Economics from Harvard University and his M.B.A with honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar.
