What led you to a career in the deal-making industry?
Working in an advisory / restructuring capacity allows you to leverage your intellectual capital rather than “commoditized” monetary capital to differentiate from competitors. Portage Point fosters a competitive environment which, if successful, provides individuals an opportunity to assume enhanced responsibility at a young age.
Tell us about your experience and what was different during the Covid-19?
As an educational leader and mentor at Portage Point, Covid-19 gave rise to training obstacles for junior professionals. In addition to running the Melinta Therapeutics restructuring, Ryan developed robust online training materials, including a five-day 13-week cash flow training course and a bankruptcy 101 module leveraged by professionals across all positions.
Recent most memorable deal I worked on....
Ryan led the Alex and Ani restructuring and investment banking efforts culminating in a successful reorganized plan where Judge Goldblatt noted “...the advisors should really be congratulated for their efforts in this complicated case.”

Profile:

Ryan joined Portage Point as its’ second hire and serves as a Director where he provides financial, operational and strategic advice including advising on complex restructurings. He was previously an Investment Banking Analyst at Lazard.

Education: B.S. Finance - Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
