What led you to a career in the deal-making industry?
In college, I founded a student-operated consulting business and worked with a number of small business owners in the area. Two of the greatest needs I found were raising capital and succession planning. As an investment banker, I am able to help make these desires a reality for clients.
Tell us about your experience and what was different during the Covid-19?
COVID-19 highlighted the importance of face-to-face interactions with clients and co-workers. Our role often turns into that of psychologist throughout the process for our clients and often each other. The deal process can become very emotional at times and building trust through in-person interactions cannot be understated.
Recent most memorable deal I worked on....
Shur-Co sale to Behrman Capital. After tracking Shur-Co for nearly a decade, we won a competitive bake-off. I co-led the deal and delivered an outcome above expectations that generated returns for management and the owners.
