JEREMY R. JOHNSON

Jeremy provides clients with business-oriented legal guidance addressing their financial restructuring and insolvency issues, including transactional and litigation matters. Throughout his career, he has represented stakeholders across various industries including manufacturing, mining and metals, automotive, energy, retail and financial services. He has developed a particular concentration in distressed health care.

Jeremy and the team won the “Special Situation M&A Deal” of the year award for Evangelical Retirement Homes of Greater Chicago d/b/a Friendship Village of Schaumburg successful restructuring and sale to Encore Healthcare Services presented during the at the 16th Turnaround Atlas Awards Gala.


SAMUEL A. KHALIL

Samuel has worked on many of the largest, most complex and precedent-setting corporate restructurings and bankruptcies. His engagements have ranged across a wide array of industries, including energy, telecommunications, shipping, chemicals, airline, financial services, automotive, pharmaceuticals, satellite, retail and real estate.


GARY H. LEIBOWITZ

Gary maintains a national practice concentrated in the areas of corporate bankruptcy, creditors' rights, and commercial litigation. He also maintains a sports law practice and is a licensed agent. Gary has served as debtors’ counsel in the retail, manufacturing, wholesale, real estate, auto and specialty products industries, among others. He has successfully restructured hundreds of millions of dollars of debt and coordinated the orderly disposition of a variety of distressed assets.

Gary and the team won the Premier Kings Inc., a 172-unit franchisee of Burger King Corp. Chapter 11 bankruptcy four separate sale transactions, won the “Chapter 11 Restructuring” of the year accolades presented during the at the 16th Turnaround Atlas Awards Gala.


SAMUEL R. MAIZEL

Samuel’s practice includes bankruptcy matters as well as financial restructurings, in- and out-of-court, involving a broad spectrum of industries but he is a nationally recognized expert in the unique issues that arise in the restructuring of healthcare industry entities. In chapter 11 cases, he has served as lead counsel to debtors, trustees and creditors' committees, and has acted as a trustee, examiner, patient care ombudsman and consumer privacy ombudsman. He has also represented many buyers and sellers of assets in chapter 11 cases. In chapter 9 cases, Sam has represented local hospital districts and other governmental units, serving as debtor's counsel and as counsel to creditors' committees.

Sam and the Dentons team won multiple awards including Quality Health Care Specialist restructuring, settlement and sale, won the “Chapter 11 Restructuring”, and Curitec, LLC won the “Corporate Turnaround” of the year accolades presented during the at the 16th Turnaround Atlas Awards Gala.


CRAIG MARTIN

Craig has represented parties in cases involving equity committees, committees of unsecured creditors, bank groups, indenture trustees and debtors. He also advises on asset purchases in bankruptcy auctions and complex M&A situations involving distressed entities. While he has appeared in bankruptcy courts across the US, his work frequently focuses on cross-border situations, and he has acted in cases in Canada, Germany, Ireland, Hong Kong, Spain, Bermuda, the Dominican Republic, Africa, the UK, and Argentina. Craig authored the American Bankruptcy Institutes text on Chapter 15 and often acts for foreign representatives in US cases under both chapter 15 and chapter 11 and has been involved in a number of groundbreaking cases involving complex cross border issues, including China Fishery, Abengoa, Luckin Coffee, and Vesttoo.

DLA Piper won four awards including for advising on the transaction ID Auto “PARTS iD”, won the “Pre-Pack Restructuring” of the year presented during the at the 16th Turnaround Atlas Awards Gala.

ERIC J. MONZO

Eric practice focuses on issues relating to business restructuring and insolvency. He regularly represents a wide range of stakeholders with a focus on official and unofficial committees, indenture trustees and agents, commercial creditors and lender groups, in addition to, corporate debtors and their independent and special committee management.

Morris James and the team won multiple transactional awards as well as “Outstanding Delaware Restructuring Law Firm” of the year high honors presented during the at the 16th Turnaround Atlas Awards Gala.


JOSHUA D. MORSE

Joshua focuses his practice on all aspects of corporate restructurings, special situations and bankruptcy proceedings and represents bondholders, debtors, secured lenders, indenture trustees and ad hoc and official committees. His experience includes both out-of-court restructuring negotiations and representing constituencies in complex matters in bankruptcy courts throughout the United States.
