Brian has advised on over 100 private and public transactions representing over $170 billion. Brian provides tailored advisory services including bespoke private capital raise solutions, liability management and debt reduction, covenant amendments, maturity extensions, and special situation mergers and acquisitions across numerous industries and geographies. He has led many in-court and out-of-court financial restructurings, consent solicitations and exchange offers. Brian has represented companies, creditor groups, government entities and other stakeholder groups. Prior to joining Canaccord Genuity, Brian worked at Moelis & Company.

Led by Brian, the team won multiple awards including Venus Concept Inc, won the “Out of Court Restructuring” and Winc Inc sale to AMASS, won the “Special Situation M&A Deal” honors presented during the 16th Annual Turnaround Atlas Awards.


AJAY BIJOOR

Ajay’s career encompasses 25 years of experience in advising companies on financial restructuring, liability management, M&A and debt and equity capital raising transactions across a wide variety of industries. Previously, Ajay co-led DC Advisory’s Debt Advisory & Restructuring Group. Ajay also spent years at Guggenheim Securities as Managing Director, Peter J. Solomon as Managing Director, as well as at Miller Buckfire & Co. Ajay began his career at Credit Suisse First Boston.

Ajay and team won the “Corporate Turnaround” of the year award during the 16th Annual Turnaround Atlas Awards for advising Anagram International, a wholly owned subsidiary to Party City Chapter 11 restructuring and sale to the lender group.

What factors has led to your success... Mentors and maintaining a curious mindset. Mentors have provided me with insights from their years of experience that would have been impossible to replicate and accelerated my growth. My curious mindset is what has continued to drive my interest in problem solving and identifying creative solutions.

RONEN BOJMEL

Ronen has advised a wide variety of domestic and international clients in out-of-court and Chapter 11 restructurings, recapitalizations, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and capital raising activities. Formerly, Ronen was a Partner and Managing Director at Miller Buckfire. Prior to joining Miller Buckfire, he was a Vice President in the financial restructuring group of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, and its predecessor, Wasserstein Perella & Co.


MATTHEW BORDIN

Matthew has more the 24 years of real estate advisory and transactional experience, with a particular expertise in workouts and restructurings, specializing in strategic planning, the sale of real estate assets and lease negotiations. He has represented financial, corporate and retail clients. As a recognized expert on real estate restructuring issues, Matthew is a frequent speaker on industry topics and has been quoted in national and industry publications.

Matthew, Harold and the team won the “Real Estate Restructuring” of the year honors presented at the 16th Annual Turnaround Atlas Awards for advising on the sale of WC Braker Portfolio from the Chapter 11 trustee to MIG Real Estate.


KARN S. CHOPRA

Karn has over 20 years of experience advising and executing restructuring, financing and M&A transactions across a wide range of industries. He was formerly a Vice President at Miller Buckfire & Co., and prior to joining Miller Buckfire was a Vice President in the turnaround restructuring services group at AlixPartners.


JAMES DOAK

James’ experience includes M&A, financing and restructuring transactions on behalf of Gymboree, Aéropostale, the City of Detroit, Foxwoods Casinos, Standard Pacific Corp., Level 3 Communications, Burlington Industries, and CenterPoint Energy. He has also represented creditor constituents in transactions including The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc., COFINA/Puerto Rico and The Lenox Group and advised several sovereigns and municipalities.

James and the Miller Buckfire team won several top honors including – “Outstanding Americas Restructuring Investment Bank” firm award along with transactional awards including - Invacare Corporation chapter 11 restructuring won the “Turnaround” and The Rockport Company sale of assets to Authentic Brands Group “Special Situation M&A Deal” of the year honors presented during the 16th Annual Turnaround Atlas Awards Gala.

TOM GOLDBLATT

Tom founded the firm in 1998. He had extensive experience ranging from sales to CEO has been pivotal in the firm's success, earning him the 'Distressed Mergers and Acquisitions Dealmaker of the Year' award twice; once in 2014 and then a decade later, in 2024. A respected voice in the industry, Tom frequently shares insights on distressed investing and strategic financing.

Tom and the team won the “Special Situation M&A Deal” of the year for advising Allied Healthcare Products in its §363 sale to Flexicare presented during the 16th Annual Turnaround Atlas Awards Gala.


SURBHI GUPTA

Surbhi has experience in a wide variety of engagements, including Chapter 11 and out-of-court restructurings, debt-for-equity exchanges, and raising capital. She joined the firm in 2005, working on numerous European restructurings at the firm's London office before transferring to New York.


JAY JACQUIN

Jay brings twenty years of investment banking and advisory experience at market-leading firms. Prior to joining Configure Partners, he established the Middle Market Special Situations practice at Guggenheim Securities. Before joining Guggenheim, he was a senior member of the Recapitalization & Restructuring Group at Morgan Joseph TriArtisan for approximately five years.


BARAK KLEIN

Barak has over 25 years of investment banking and asset management experience, advising clients on distressed M&A and debt financing transactions, liability management and Chapter 11 reorganizations. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Barak was a member of the CR Intrinsic-General Distressed Group, investing in work-out and special situations at SAC Capital Advisors.
