What led you to a career in the deal-making industry?
I grew up with entrepreneurial parents and always felt a calling towards business to help others grow and build. I am a people person, so I went to law school to become a transactional lawyer. Pursuing collaborative deals that create something new was exciting to me.
Most memorable deal I worked on...
I led a deal that formed a new public company earlier in my career. It stands out because I led the deal with no partner help. I learned to trust myself, be creative and figure it out.
Do woman add value to the process...
Absolutely! Woman often bring different perspectives to deals – whether its an alternative negotiating style or approach to collaboration.
My number one advice for achieving success in the industry...
Always be a student. Even 100 deals in, I am still learning, seeing new challenges and overcoming roadblocks. Just be hungry to learn and make sure those around you know that about you.
What you most enjoy about your career...
At this stage, I most enjoy mentoring and teaching others. My passion is to empower early-career associates by giving them active role and exposing them to a variety of experiences.
