What led you to a career in the deal-making industry?
I became intrigued with M&A and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know businesses. I love hearing sellers’ stories – their successes, pivotal points and decisions along the way. The concept of a deal initially intrigued me – the stories keep me engaged.
How does diversity add value in the deal-making process?
I believe the best solutions are the result of consideration of diverse set of viewpoints - with a transaction, a diverse team allows for well-rounded problem solving because the varying perspectives promote studying the deal from all sides.
The most memorable deal I worked on....
I was staffed on a $20B merger early in my career. The international team was comprised of 20 professionals of all levels - I was the only female. I learned invaluable lessons - technically and professionally - working alongside this team on a significant deal.
Advice for achieving success in the industry....
Remember clients are people looking for guidance. Treat clients and targets how you would like to be treated - whether that's communicating issues, fees or mistakes. Thoughtful communication and integrity go a long way in client service.
